I DO MOST PHOTO TOURS

TWICE ONLY

"Do one thing every day that scares you."

– Mary Schmich

I do most of my photo tours only twice. New challenges add spice, new challenges keep me on my toes. New challenges are a bit scary, but oh so rewarding!

I love doing what I do, but at the same time, to set up a new tour is always a new challenge and a fresh start.

The first half of the year flew by in a big exciting WOOOSSHHH. Looking back, I'm yet again humbled that I am able to do what I do. And I am thankful. Thankful to be healthy, thankful to be adventurous and most of all: thankful to those of you who have joined me on one or several of the tours and became part of this ever growing family of travelers that is now an integral part of my life. You are awesome!

The first 6 months of 2016 have taken me to Ethiopia, Tuscany, Lake Baikal, Southern Germany and Lofoten in Norway - my first time in the Arctic ever (sorry, Iceland). Yey!

And no major slow-down in sight. So join me for a quick look back and a longer look forward. The executive summary first:

Lofoten 2016 was AWESOME

12 people spent 9 days in Norway - exploring the Lofoten archipelago with all its nooks and crannies (and Mælströms).

Exciting and stunningly beautiful.

Check out photos by Tom Stewart, Dieter Lamm and yours truly.

I also uploaded a few videos from the tour:
» Midnight Sun
» Tørrfisk
» Zodiak & Eagles

We are planning to go again in 2018, more details soon.

Greenland 2016 is SOLD OUT

End of August we'll board the Rembrandt van Rijin and explore east Greenland. The tour has seen such a tremendous level of interest that I decided to get Jon Miller on board (excuse the pun) to co-host, so that we could keep the planned 8:1 participant:host ratio. Mission accomplished, this one will be amazing!

This will be my first Arctic tour on a ship. In the footsteps of Arctic explorer Nansen.

Svalbard/Spitsbergen 2017 - JOIN THE WAITING LIST

Another exciting place in the Arctic is Svalbard with its abundance of Arctic wildlife. There's a reason the archipelago has been called the Galapagos of the Arctic.

The tour is officially sold out, but as it's almost a year, I have opened a waiting list, just in case someone drops off.

Lake Baikal 2017 - HALF FULL, OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

Forget everything you were told about Russia. Siberia is different. Getting there is easy, accommodation is great, food is wonderful – and the photo ops are stunning. I can't wait to go back.

Don't be scared of the cold. Warm clothes and boots are included.

Bhutan 2017 - FEW SPOTS LEFT

With strictly limited tourism, Bhutan is perhaps the world’s most exclusive tourist destination, while preserving their old culture. And it's the second time I'm going there. Just saying...
